Can someone clarify what it is we need for Columbia Financial Aid?

On their website it just says CSS, FAFSA, and the 2007 tax returns. But on the tracking site it says other papers like non-tax filer statement and stuff. Can someone just list everything we need to send to Columbia for undergraduate financial aid? Thank you.

You need the following:

~ CSS Profile (done online)
~ FAFSA (done online)
~ your parents' 2007 tax returns (includes schedules and W-2's)
~ the student's (you) 2007 tax returns (includes schedules and W-2's). If you did not file a tax return for 2007 (most likely reason being you didn't have a job), you must send a Non-Tax Filer Form.

All tax returns must be mailed physically. Columbia University does not utilize the IDOC option from CSS.

I think you can also fax tax returns to Columbia....right? That's what it said on their website anyway

Ahaha, whoops? Totally forgot fax! So, yeah, you can fax the tax returns, metaldragon2400.

And the Non-tax Filer Form is Columbia-specific and it's posted somewhere on their financial aid site.

Thank you guys. Oh, and just you all know we also need the verification forms too.

Verification form?

Columbia University Office of Undergraduate Financial Aid and Educational Financing - Regular Decision

I don't see Verification Form....I think this is only required if Columbia tells you so.

Idk, if you check your status on the Columbia website it lists three things for financial aid documents - parents' tax returns, non-filer tax statement or your tax returns, and a verification form.

It says they haven't received my non-filer form and my parent's taxes as of yesterday but I submitted that a long time ago. =/

Crap....I didn't turn in my Federal Verification form and it was listed as a requirement.... I'm faxing it in tomorrow. Is that ok or was there a strict deadline for the Federal Verification Form?

For a second I was thinking I hadn't either, but I recognize the form. xD
