Can someone comment on my architecture portfolio?

So there are still a few pages to be worked on, but I will fix them soon. Thanks in advance.

Hi Jocelyn,

You’ve put a lot of work into your online portfolio. The layout is really attractive. I’ll give my overall impressions. Hopefully, others will chip in specifically on the needs of an architecture application. Which colleges are you applying to?

Some of your English reads awkwardly. No one expects you to have perfect English but getting some proof reading done by a native speaker just makes your portfolio ‘flow’ better. PM me if you want me to give you a hand.

You have some really strong elements- the 3D sculptures, your group work, the MIT project and the photography. I rather liked your portraits and the watercolour but I felt the other drawings were much weaker. Especially the field by the temple. And the hallway with the table. I get what you were trying to do with it. Perhaps try it in other media? For me the pencil seems too weak. How about acrylic? And or trying different colour combinations rather than just black and white if your focus is tone?

All of that’s just my opinion. Would be great to see more of your work.

Best wishes for the application!

Also the fuscia (pink/magenta) lettering and font for the name in the first page should be changed to a more architect-y font and more subdued color… Also the font in the projects (the huge rounded one) is a bit out of proportion. See some nice technical fonts like Tahoma or the fonts used for drawings, those are fonts the reviewers will relate to.

Sorry for replying late. Thanks for your comment. I changed my fonts to more formal ones.
