Can someone familiar with the physics, french suggest classes to sit in on

Which physics, french and maybe art history classses are best for a prospective student to sit in on? Professors? Thanks.

Art History - attend Michael Cothren's class, I think it is called 'Survey of Western Art'.

Physics 6 is a freshman seminar for students considering majoring in physics, so that would probably be a good one. I think Boccio teaches it. I don't know much about the lower level physics classes (for non-majors) so I can't really comment.

Thanks-he teaches it twice a week but its a 3hr class! Lots of Swarthmore classes seem to be very long-is this usual for college?

Yeah, Colthren's intro survey course would be a good example of a large lecture class at Swarthmore. He's a very popular prof. Like Achat Jr, InterestedDad Jr loved that course, too.

The Physics 6 seminar will be 10 - 12 students, each presenting problem sets on relativity. The 3 hour format is typical for seminars. They only meet once a week. Boccio's Physics seminar meets at night.

Other courses either meet twice a week for 1.5 hours or three times a week for 1 hour.
