<p>I am currently a freshman at UMASS Dartmouth, with 12 courses completed and I'm enrolled in 16 currently. My SAT scores in highschool were 580's in Reading and Writing and 540 in Math. I didnt do that well in highschool I had around a 2.6.. but after my first semester of college i had a 3.7 and was on the Deans list. I need to know my chances of getting into UMASS Amherst, cause my current school is looking for housing deposits this week!!! I included a pretty compelling essay about why i did so poorly in highschool but not college, but im still nervous the bad highschool gpa will be a factor.. HELP please!!!</p>

I have no idea how much they will take into consideration your first semester in Dartmouth and your essay, so all I can say is good luck.</p>
<p>Well, the average GPA for UMASS Amherst is around a 3.33, and an acceptance rate of about 67%. So A 2.6 won’t be too good.</p>
<p>However, with a 3.7 so far this year you are looking like a pretty good chance. That is above the standard GPA, although it is college GPA, and your 1120 combined SAT is right around the average (1170). So I’d say all around Low Reach/High Match. Maybe even match.</p>
