Hey everybody...With many a trial and error, I'm slowly whittling down my college list and deciding...but I'd like some more input from those more experienced than I. I've got some criteria that I'd like to see a college meet, and I would appreciate anyone who could name the school(s) they think fit.
1) Small to medium size.
2)Preferably suburban or urban, but I would consider rural.
3) Intellectual! I want a college that loves ideas and schoolwork/learning for its own sake; discussions and/or debates about philosophy, world views, politics, etc.
4) Strong philosophy department...I'm going to major in it.
5)Strong science department...I'm want to be pre-med.
6)Good food.
7)Good study abroad.
8)Good dorms.
9) Focus on undergraduates/lots of personal attention in classrooms from professors.
10) No massively difficult workloads or coursework; I want to to be challenged, but I don't want to have to pull frequent all-nighters. In fact, the less all-nighters, the better.
11) I don't want raging nightlife/fratlife, or a campus absolutely AWASH in alcohol. I know that students at ALL colleges drink.

A short description of me, if that will help: Smart, but quirky. I work hard and do well in the sciences/math, and even like biology, but will always prefer the arts (writing, reading, photography, poetry, philosophy, history, etc.) Fantasy novels, historical fiction, anime...you get the picture.
Hope that wasn't too long...anyone who can reply, please do. Thanks again!
