Can someone please help me?

Hey guys, just need some guidance on a few questions I have. Well, I didn't do as well as I thought I would my first semester in college.. It isn't finished yet, but I think I'm going to have around a 3.0. You might be thinking, "so what's your problem?" Well ya see, I'm trying to get into a top tier law school. Therefore, I need at least a 3.6. Basically, I have 2 questions. How high can I possibly raise my gpa? And secondly, should I stick with political science or switch to philosophy as a major? I heard philosophy majors tend to score high on the LSAT.

Let's say worst comes to worse and I finish with a 2.5, which is doubtful... How high, in that scenario, would I be able to raise my gpa?

Thanks for taking time to read this! It's greatly appreciated!

Well, if you are only in your first semester you have at least 7 more semesters to bring it up. I’m sure your college has academic resources available to help you improve. As to your major, you should aim for something you can do well in. After that, you should look for something that gives practical skills (in case you decide against law or otherwise can’t go for it). I wouldn’t bother with picking a major based on the LSAT. You need a 3 month course for that, not a 4 year degree.

Thank you very much, it’s highly appreciated!
