can someone tell me my chances?

What's up yall, I'm a senior from SoCal and I'm applying early decision already but i would really like to hear my chances. I have an unweighted 3.92 GPA with a weighted 4.58 GPA rank 2 in my class of over 700 and my SAT is 2100+ but my ACT is only 31. I took 5 APs so far and i have 5 APs right now. I'm currently set to go into either human biology or engineering physics but ultimately get into med school. I'm also applying to Harvard, Princeton, Yale, Columbia, MIT, Chicago, UC Berkeley, and UCLA. What do you guys think my odds are at any or each?

also I’m co-founder of the school’s UNITY club, where i am a very active member and forum runner, and i’m a member of California Scholarship Federation. I do volunteer tutoring and library work on occasion. I have played JV basketball and JV tennis which i know is just whatever.

Your rank and GPA look great. The 31 on your ACT is about equal to the 2100 on your SAT so they show some consistancy. Its still early, I would recommend taking the SAT and/or the ACT again and trying to raise the scores. I think you really need higher scores on your ACT/SAT for early decision.

If you haven’t already submitted your application for REA, think about it. I feel you may be better off taking the SAT/ACT again and then submitting your app for regular decision. (REA pools tend to be a bit more competitive.)

Good luck with your choices

alright Dungareedoll thanks for your suggestions. I don’t want to take the ACT or SAT again because it would be my 4th time for either of them and i’ve taken the SAT the past time and the score hasn’t come back. It felt really good maybe a possible 2200 but I wouldn’t know until the 20th.

Also, i’ve decided on a few majors i might want to pursue but only one is in Stanford’s list of majors and it’s not that strong of a field for me. So would it look bad if I didn’t mention a major in my personal statements?

A lot of kids aren’t sure about their majors, that shouldn’t be a problem. However, if deep down you truly know which direction you want and Stanford doesn’t have it than maybe Stanford isn’t the best choice for you. Don’t go to a school purely because you’re in love with the name. Go to the school that gives you all or most of what you’re looking for. Perhaps nothing is perfect but try getting as close as possible. In the long run, college time is all about acquiring a degree in an area you want to pursue. If you can’t find that at a college than why are you really going there?

yea i thought that over and that’s why i would also love it to go to Columbia since they have a strong premed program but I want my degree to be in Engineering because that’s what I’m good at and so stanford’s engineering is pretty good too so these two are my top two. and thank you for your replies.

Hey I was just looking back at your prior posts and noted that you wanted engineering and human bio. Stanford has both. Stanford has an amazing humbio dept. They even have a humbio residence hall for the kids to live in. Its beautiful and a lot of the events in the dorm revolve around humbio. Maybe Stanford is a better fit than originally thought.
