I finally decided to go to BC(Yay!) and I need your help!
Is it just me(maybe because i’m international and just not used to it, or I’m not getting something right) or is it kind of complicated?
I’ve successfully registered for orientation (Session#7, by the way. I’m international).
Now I’m going through housing application and it’s driving me crazy!!!

1) I want to set my preferred name(from past experiences, i found that foreigners have problem pronouncing and remembering my name… ). Where do I do that? Can’t find it in my services tab.

2) If I tick the roommate search box(or whatever it was called ) does that mean that if I don’t get to form a group at the end, I won’t be assigned a room??

3) Just for curiosity, what’s your “screen name” and what’s your description like? I mean, is it supposed to be really serious and just your name as screen name or something funkier?

4) By the way, what’s “48 hours”?
It may seem silly but PLEASE ANSWER
There’s no one else to help me but you guys!!

The agora portal and your contact information should have those options. Just go through the portal and you should find it.

No, you will be assigned a random roommate(s).

Screen name should be your preferred/full name. You can put your english/common name (sorry don’t know what country you are!) if you want. Description is just like saying “hi my name is , I’m from (if you want), and I’m so excited to join the BC community! I really want to get involved in ,, and . I’m super easy to get a long with and friendly. I plan to study . On the weekends I like to go out/hang with friends/read a book/etc” but really anything you want. It just gives people an idea of who you are and if they identify with you, they’ll email you or contact you via facebook.

48 hours is a retreat at bc! (there are TONS of retreats to go to) it’s a time to go an take time off from academics and other responsibilities at college and reflect on what you want to do with your life, where you are at the moment, and who you want to become. People say it’s amazing and some people say it’s alright. It’s never bad though. I would recommend going maybe 2nd semester in the first february date since you’ll have something to reflect on about your freshman year and 2nd semester exams won’t conflict with it.

Finally!! Thanks!!!
and just 1 more question,
is there anyway I can change my username or at list for my BC email account?
The school gave me this weird username that has nothing to do with my name except for my last name which is KIM … And the other username I was assigned for BC email is just so randomly made using dots and a number
