Can Such a Letter of Recommendation Actually Make an Difference?

Can a really good letter of recommendation from someone who graduated from Harvard and later taught there make a difference in an application?I know any recommendation can make or break an application depending on the content, but I'm focusing on the status of the letter writer here.

Note: The letter of recommendation would be from someone who actually TAUGHT the applicant some academic subject.

Thank you very much in advance.

It might raise an eyebrow, but this is Harvard: no ONE factor will push you over the rest of the competition. Moreover, a lot of Harvard applicants have recommendations from prime ministers and nobel prize winners lol it might not make any difference at all.

The only thing that can make the letter stand out is if the writer compares you to the Harvard students he/she has taught and that you come out very favorably in the comparison-- especially if what was taught was something like Physics 16 or Math 55 which are known to be ball-busting courses.

Alright. Thanks everyone!
