I met the FAFSA and CSS deadlines (Feb 1 in our case) but will NOT be able to get 2005 tax papers (non-USA) sent in before April 1. (some want via IDOC by March 1). Could this situation in any way jeopardize my daughter's chances of being accepted somewhere? Or is it ok to wait until after April - when we find out where/if she is accepted before sending the tax info?

I am new to this too, but from what I've read, I don't think it will jeopardize her chances of being accepted but it probably will affect her chances of receiving financial aid. Are the numbers on the FAFSA and CSS Profile estimates or are they the correct numbers?

Estimate to meet deadlines. With FAFSA, after you've filed taxes, go in and correct it with the real numbers online. Profile schools will ask for your tax returns, usually, to verify and update.

sblake, Are you supposed to print out the profile, make copies (one per css profile school) and correct the profile by hand, and then mail to each school that uses the profile?
