Hey CC! I'm applying to a BSMD program and they require a personal statement talking about my interest in medicine and whatnot. I have a decently long personal narrative of various instances in my life that indirectly show how my interest from medicine was apparent. I'm worried that a personal narrative isn't what a classic personal statement is like and that the program will immediately reject me. I was wondering if I should use my personal narrative or not, basically. I have another prompt that doesn't have the personal narrative, but actually just sums up the instances and such (because I had to write the essay under like, 600 words). I feel like this isn't as personal and doesn't really show how I really am and my interests. Should I combine both somehow? Or?
Also: I feel like my personal narrative writing is the strongest type of writing I have. Braided essays are something I'm really good at too. The interest in medicine narrative is a braid. I would need to change the ending and add more reflection but other than that, it's alright.

If it would help to read both pieces, I can send them to you.
