Does anyone know if visiting veterinary schools can actually raise the chance of being accepted? Some colleges actually do have admission presentation/orientation for the prospective students, but others do not and you have to make individual appointment with the adviser if you have any questions about application process. Does it make any difference whether you visit the school beforehand or not? I'd appreciate any feedback!

I’m an undergrad student worker at a law school. Personal appointments would probably get you a bump over the open presentations, and open presentations over never coming to the school at all. Our department is literally 3 (kind of 4) people. If you come in to see them, we basically all know. They’ll remember you. This may not be the case for every school, but I think it could make a difference. Make sure you schedule to take a tour and don’t just come in to ask questions that you could have called about. Just don’t be annoying or waste their time.

Additionally, visiting the school is something to put on a “letter of continued interest” if you get waitlisted, which could show that you are serious about waiting on a spot from them.

Thanks for your input!
