<p>a course my son is taking needs book with access code and the combo is very expensive at his book store. By doing a search, I found another college id offering online version of the book with access code for a negotiated cheap price with publisher. Can we buy that code from that college website and use in his college - will there be problems? In other words are access codes unique to books/publisher or is there a college component in them?</p>
<p>Most likely it will not matter.
–With the access code and signing up you will generally select the university and class to enroll in or the professor will provide a course code to access the class that this access code is for.</p>
<p>However, I’ve had a different situation in which you had to buy access on “great river technologies” to a custom designed online course that was published under my University’s name before.</p>
