Can we confirm admissions to more than one college?

<p>Hello everyone on CC. I am in sort of a dilemma. I am an international student and have been accepted to quite a few schools. I have however narrowed them down to two. I was wondering if it was OK to confirm and pay deposit to more than one school? I do not intend to ask for any refunds but I would like to have them both as an option while applying for a visa.</p>

<p>I am not concerned with moral values in this case. I wanted to know whether it's strictly prohibited and illegal.</p>

<p>I hope to get a reply soon. The May 1 deadline is fast approaching :)</p>

<p>It is not illegal (as in something you would go to jail for). It is improper. Most people would advise against it. </p>

<p>However, there are rare cases in which it is indeed the wisest action - most often when there are serious financial issues or family health issues that will not be resolved until midsummer. Only you know whether your own personal situation falls into that category.</p>

<p>If, on the other hand, you are just dithering, then flip a coin and commit to one or the other.</p>
