just another note, i don't equate poverty with irresponsibility, but i do believe that the middle class has contributed something positive to the country and shouldn't be punished for it in financial aid

Of course the govt. wants the poor to enter the middle class. That leaves fewer angry Americans. Americans are happy when they have money. Money blinds people to injustice. Just because the govt. wants it doesn't make it so. All the numbers show that the poor have gotten poorer and they continue to become poorer. The govt. wants to declare victory in Iraq, but that doesn't mean the U.S. has won. You claim my arguments are "hot air" but that doesn't make it true. If you could read you'd note that I stated "debt you'll incur," meaning future tense, the debt you'll incur at Cornell.

I agree that the middle class shoulders the weight of this country, pvodenski. I also do not equate poverty with irresponsibility like our friend, abike-Reagan over here.

Furthermore, do you know anything about consumption in this country. Everyone has debt, including your family. Do you own a home or apartment? Did your parents go to college? Do your parents have credit cards? Do you own a car? For someone who boasts such sweeping economic indictments of people in this country, you sound quite in over your head, as they say.

poverty comes from many circumstances i have stated in previous posts. Reagan was one of our greatest presidents and the best in modern history he would be after Nixion if that watergate scandal didn't ruin his presidency. thanks for the compliment bongoboy which i know u didn't intend it to be

Need I say more?

I'm not going to get into my parents financial circumstances bc they are none of your business. u can speculate all u want about them but how is my personal situation relevant to the discussion as a whole? how am i in over my head? again i didn't and don't make indictments on people i stated harsh facts that u don't want to hear. why get so defensive?

Defensive? I was just hitting you off with some knowledge on what debt is. You claim your parents don't have debt because they're "responsible." I'll be glad when you take intro macro at ILR. Your parents do have debt, everyone has and has had debt, and there's nothing irresponsible about it. Theres a "harsh fact" for you, look it up in an economics text book, you don't wanna look stupid when you get to ILR.

man u just don't know, why do i **** u off so much? seriously don't debate economics with me son, u don't know how accomplished i am. i meant my parents aren't drowning in debt what ever debt they have which is minimum they handle it responsibly.

Economic trash talking, uber-cool.

my useless contribution

OHHH DIP! Madness accomplished in the economics field? Did you bone greenspan or something? I bow down to your ill Republican voodoo economics.

No, to be honest, I don't care.

I see know ur testorone has kicked in and blurred ur judgement. why such the rude comment i haven't personally attacked u any way. u are really immature bongoboy

What makes you think Cornell wouldn't do it if it were cost-effective? They would if they could.

Cornell's one of the most expensive colleges in the world...part of its because of the prime educational location (in the middle of nowhere)
but consider this...even if u have no aid (and r on a loan), a real good GPA would certainly make the struggle worth the effort...we can't crib abt how these univs charge us...but we can certainly make the best use of what we pay
