President in my senior year.

Id try claremont mckenna, I don’t think pitzer is right for you.
You have the grades and extra curricular for cmc definitely and it sounds like it would be a better fit based on your grades and activities.
My dad is an admissions officer for cmc and he made it sound like you would have a higher chance getting in there.
Trust me.

I think musicmstr’s response is odd, because he makes it sound like Pitzer will reject you for being too good, which is obviously nonsense.

You are obviously a quality student with excellent stats, I am sure you will be considered a very qualified candidate.

My daughter (2380 SAT, 750 & 800 SAT II, 9 APs so far (one 3, one 4 and the rest 5) and some nice Math and Latin honors is applying ED. With stats like that (and yours) Pomona, the most selective of the 5Cs would obviously be a good fit for her (and is her 2nd choice), but she spend a lot of time at both schools (as well as Scripps). She did overnights, preview programs, visited friends (We live about 30 miles away), and something about Pitzer really works for her. She just loves the place, and I was able to understand what she loved about it.

BTW, she really did not like the vibe at CMC. She loves HMC, and plans to hang out there, esp if her boyfriend gets in, but she is not a science person.

Also, CMC and Pitzer (and Scripps) share a science facility, so same classes…

I agree with another parent. You are highly competitive at several of the C’s. Pitzer does not care about test scores, they are looking for self-driven idealists. CMC will provide leadership skills with a focus on business and government. You need to focus on fit, and it seems like Pitzer might just be spectacular for you. You have an excellent chance.

With your grades and test scores, you would be competitive at any of the five C’s. I think what is most important for you is to understand the culture of each of the 5C’s you are considering. CMC is VERY different from Pitzer and Pomona is very different from both.

You need to determine based on your personality and your career goals which one of the 5C’s would best suit your needs. I am happy to answer any other questions you may have

I am very interested to know if this student applied to Pitzer or another Claremont College, and what happened.

It looks like he/she went to GW:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/14160818-post8.html

Although this is an old post, it is unfair to characterize Pitzer as not caring about test scores. Yes, Pitzer is now SAT optional, but the SATs are considered and important in the review of an application (if included). However, Pitzer is more holistic with a balanced review of academic performance, graduation rankings, SATs, core values (social responsibility, engagement, etc.), achievements, perceived student fit, etc.
