Hi: I am a US Citizen currently studying 12th grade in India. My SAT score is 1380 (Dec 2016). I was the valedictorian of my school in 10th grade (ICSE Board Exams, 96%). I’m planning to apply to the following universities for my BS in Computer Engineering/Computer Science for Fall 2018. Will I get admission and/or financial aid from these universities? UIUC
Georgia Tech
UT Austin
Purdue
Univ of Washington
University of Maryland College Park
Ohio State University
Univ of Minnesotta Twin Cities
Univ of Utah
Arizona State
North Carolina State
Univ of Florida
Univ of Houston
San Jose State University
Univ of South Florida
New Jersey Institute of Technology
Thanks for your inputs
It looks like you’ve got a very realistic and balanced college list!
Have you participated in any extracurriculars or volunteer work?
Just based off of your SAT and grades, I think you’ve got great chances at those schools. Financial aid is a different story and can be complicated for international students- Do you know approximately what your family’s income is in USD?
I have participated in some extracurricular and volunteer work but not as extensive as what you would see with US students. I will be considered as US Citizen for college admissions/scholarships since I was born in US. My EFC will be very high.

Dude, why so many safeties? Get rid of the half the safeties, and then start adding some more reach schools. If you improve that SAT score, and get it to at least 1450, then I don’t see why you can’t add some top schools (Stanford/Ivy level). You will have a slim to nothing chance like the rest of us, but I think that there’s a possibility that you can make it. You honestly only need about three safeties. I’m only applying to two safeties.
Be more daring!
Thanks ConcernedRabbit and Gumbymom. I added a few safties because of the possibility of getting some financial aid but I will cut some of them. How would be me chances with U Wisconsin (Madison) & Texas A&M.
