Currently adding the financial info on my FAFSA, and yesterday I asked my mom when she was going to do her 2010 taxes (she usually pays someone to do them) and she said March. Her 2009 taxes should be near this past year's numbers. If anything, they might be lower.

If she doesn't do them till mid-March, can I edit it then, after the March 2nd deadline?
Should I submit it immediately(after double checking everything of course) or wait for whatever reason?

FAFSA itself does not have a March 2 deadline. In fact the 2011-2012 FAFSA can be submitted up until June 2012.

So your march 2 deadline is presumably a school or state deadline (I know for instance the calgrant deadline is march 2). Generally initially submitting FAFSA by a deadline means you meet the deadline even if you must correct it later. But check with whatever institution you are talking about, to make sure.

Thank you for the answer! Cleared up a lot.
Yes, I am from California, and I’m applying to the UCs. So does this mean I must make appropriate changes before the March 2nd deadline to receive the Cal Grant?

I don’t know. A lot of times you will have met the deadline so long as you initially file by the deadline even if you have to correct later. But I don’t know specifically about the Calgrant. I would suggest you check with them, or with your schools.
