I want to get into Stern, business and finance is something I really like, but I also am interested in visual arts. My question is, can you minor in either drama, film, or theatre?

EDIT: Never mind about minoring, but can I double major in business and film? Do they even offer that?

No, you can't double major in business and film. You can get an entertainment, media & technology concentration if you're in Stern, but it's apparently worthless as far as I know (and it's more 'what will be the impact of new media on business' vs critical study of film and so on)

There is actually some kind of Film/MBA combination available via Stern. But it focuses more on business (or so I've heard), so you don't actually delve into the filmmaking process. You're pretty much just learning about the production and the business aspects of filmmaking.

Also, you can declare minors in film and theater, and probably drama too (though I'm not too sure about drama). You have to go talk to an adviser and see how things work out.

Tisch offers an open arts curriculum where students from other schools at NYU can take classes in various courses. There is also a producing minor at Tisch.

nyumom, I'm not sure if your comment was directed at mine or not, but, although it's true that there are a few Drama courses offered in the Open Arts curriculum, it does not in any way constitute a minor.
