I am very well aware of the fact that it would be very difficult for me to secure any financial aid/scholarship. But would anyone be kind enough to list some schools that would offer me any kind of money?

Thx in advance.

oh, and I would like to study biology or business (I know it's a quite a gap...)

For Bio
UC Berk (fit)
UCLA (fit)
Wash U (reach)
JHU (match): if you are serious about JHU ED since their ED is 50% my friend ED to JHU with 1980 for BME and he got in

since you are korean like my self your parents will tell you right now
HARVARD.. HARVARD and HARVARD...

Business
UC Berk
U Mich
Northwestern (they are doing the undergraduate program for Kellogg)
UPENN
NYU
MIT

hmm... thank you King is here.
Umm, was your friend also an international student or US student?
I would definitely ED JHU if I can just get in....

Anyone else?

please ? ....

niceshrp, cuz u're an intl needing aid, i'd not advise u to apply to public schools. they provide VERY few big scholarships to intl students (these scholarships, if available, are damn competitive), plus out-of-state tuition can be very high. u can also search among the LACs; many do offer biology while biz is harder to find (most of the time they only have econ). do u have any other criteria like location, grad school placement, a specific EC?

Some (many?) colleges and universities treat Canadians like US citizens and permanent residents rather than like internationals in terms of financial aid. UPenn is the first one that comes to my mind.

Thx for the replies
Which LACs would be good for biology?
I would really like to go to schools like UPenn, but with these stats I think they are very far reach.

Oberlin! Great aid!

Lafayette isn't that bad with aid either :D

Amherst, Williams, Swarthmore and many more!...

Thank you, you guys have been a big help ~

Er, in response to #3, from what I've heard, NYU is not good with the intl financial aid. Actually, what a bunch of the intl kids going to Stern (the business school) are saying is that they get nothing. (The rest of us get next to nothing, if anything at all, unless if we're really lucky.) Really, NYU is notorious for its really bad financial aid for just about anyone. You can try, but don't be surprised if you are offered very little.

thx ijailin for your advice.

The UCs dont get finaid to intels (UCB and UCLA)
JHU ED was 45% last year.. or 2 years ago? i cant remember.
A safety school you can apply to can be U of Rochester.. they give good merit aids to intels and they have a really strong bio department..
You should also look into Rice and Duke for bio.
Northwestern kellogg + UMich ross + NYU stern are great schools for business.. But the the compeitition is fierce..

thx, I will look into Rochester.
Does anyone know if U of Michigan offer generous FA to Canadian students?

Oh, Canadians are a special case....Many Unis will consider you as Special Int'l student.(Which means, you can enjoy a good FA policy! Like in Upenn!!!)...Check with the uni's policies...

Really? Canadians receive more generous FA than regular international students? THx for the info
