It didn’t seem like the college prep program would be worth applying to since February and March were crazy busy months for me. However, I still want to apply for the national college match, and I’m a little worried that QB won’t look at me too favorably since I didn’t apply for college prep.
bump
You can still apply. Students who were selected for the College Prep program are given preference but still plenty of slots for others (highly competitive for all). I once figured out the statistics, not sure if I’m remembering right, but if you were a Prep scholar, maybe your chance of getting Questbridge was 30% or better, for others maybe it was 10% or so.
Double check me on this, my knowledge is from previous cycle, and the % I’m mentioning should not be taken as gospel truth. I did the figuring to come to the conclusion that it’s very worthwhile to apply for the College Prep program if only for the edge it gives you the next year.
QB is a lot of work but potentially a huge benefit, although my D, without Questbridge, got 2 full ride offers from colleges. Hers did include some loans, I can’t remember if QB offers can include loans or not.
For others who may be reading this, people who were not accepted to College Prep can even apply to QB the next year, although D and I felt that would be an extreme uphill battle. I think it would be more appropriate for someone whose circumstances had changed drastically or who felt their application needed more work, different recommenders, etc.
The way I look at, why not apply, worst case they will say no. End up in the same place as if you dont apply
