I was wondering if the College Prep Scholarship is a prerequisite for the National College Match Program. I'm going away this summer, so I don't really feel the need to apply for the College Prep Scholarship... If I disregard the College Prep Scholarship, could I just apply for the National College Match program when applications open?

Yes. The College Prep Scholarship is not needed for the National College Match Program.

Thanks KingdomHearts!

I would like to add to this thread. What exactly is the college prep scholarship, and what are the benefits? I heard you just get a free trip to attend an information meeting at a college or something?

Also, what are quest for excellence awards? Are they valuable?

Is it ok to apply for the quest of excellence awards as a senior?

bump, thanks

Jeffrey, the benefits of the College Prep Scholarship are listed here: [College Prep Scholarship Overview](http://www.questbridge.org/for-students/cps-college-prep-scholarship)

I was a recipient of the college prep conference and nomination for a college visit. Going to the College Prep Conference really impacted me. I learned so much about the opportunities for low-income students and how financially possible it is for us to be able to afford an education from some of the nation’s best colleges. I made friends that I still keep in contact with and I met with many admissions counselors. There were so many other things I’ve gained from that experience but I’ll leave what I have listed so far as the major advantages. In my year, there were college prep conferences at Stanford and Yale. For yours, I believe they are at Stanford, Northwestern, and Princeton. QB also gives out a few travel stipends for students to attend.

I’m glad to see your enthusiasm for applying with all your questions and your eagerness to fill out the Match Program application.

I believe that the Quest for Excellence awards are only part of the junior College Prep Scholarship.

Feel free to let me know if you have any other questions.
