If you get accepted into a certain college at CMU (e.g CIT), can you transfer to any other college once at CMU?
thanks

Absolutely. But be warned. CIT and SCS are probably going to be nearly impossible to transfer into.

CIT is not “nearly impossible” to transfer into, unless you are talking about ECE. SCS can be hard. Generally though if you want to double major or minor in something you can try and see. I don’t recommend going if you only got accepted into a college you don’t want to be in though…bad idea.

You can definitely switch. Depending on your grades, I wouldn’t even say it is that hard. I switched from MCS to SCS my freshman year. I took the relevant intro courses ( got A’s ) and from there it was literally as easy as walking into the adviser’s office and asking to be transferred to SCS. As far as SCS goes, some people seem to really struggle in CS classes, so your mileage may vary ( this really applies to any major). Another potentially big factor is supply and demand (I am sure they have to cap the class size at some point).

Also, Tony makes a really good point. Head his words!
