internal transfer?

Is it possible to switch schools before even starting college at CMU? I applied to CIT and got accepted, but what if I would like to switch to H&SS (not for sure, just asking)? would it be too hard to switch during the second semester? (I think I read that's the earliest you can do an internal transfer?)

CIT to H&SS should be a fairly easy transfer.

what about CIT to SCS? any ideas?

were you accepted to all CIT (including ECE)? if so there is a slight chance for SCS but it isn’t likely

This is slightly related. I’m a little confused on the different schools. If you are in CIT do you have to major in one of the CIT courses or can you major in computer science?

I’m deciding between computer science and some other form of engineering. I am on the priority waitlist for both CIT and SCS. If I get into CIT can I major in Computer Science? If I get into SCS can major in some other type of engineering?

Thanks

If you were only accepted to CIT, you must major in one of the five offered by CIT. You can double major with CS, but your “home department” will be within CIT.

sorry, would it be hard to transfer from CIT to IS? I was just wondering when you would transfer if you were to also. Would transferring put you behind other students?

IS usually starts out with 40 or so students (we’re a tight community) and expands to 60 or so by junior year; it should be fairly easy to transfer from CIT to IS.
