Hello everyone, I am in a bit of a pickle here. I just got a call from my GC saying that AP Euro has been canceled at our school. I am a senior this year, and will have 3 Social Studies credit by the time I graduate. I wanted to have 4 to look better for schools like FSU, UCF, and USF. So I was wondering if it is possible, or frowned upon to take AP World History, after I have taken World History Honors, and received an A? Thank you for the help.

Probably. Just take the AP Test for Work History, and /or study for the AP Euro test.

I doubt it’s frowned upon. At my school you HAVE to take Honors Bio or Honors Chem before AP Bio or AP Chem. I’d take the class, it probably goes more in depth than the honors class.

I agree with runningwriter. For AP Physics, Bio, and chem, we have to take the honors sections first, in addition to anatomy and physiology for bio. good luck!

Unlike Bio or Chem, AP World is similar in many ways to Honors World. Although it goes more in-depth, the class is really too comprehensive for a high school class. I’d recommend you not take world again if you have a choice. If you try taking a community college class in Euro and then take the AP test, it might even be better than the high school class.

why dont you try doing ap euro online during a study hall

It is fairly common at my school to take Chem Honors junior year and AP Chem senior year. That’s what I’m doing.

My school is the same as runningwriter, except our school doesn’t have honors classes (but then again our regular classes are all rather accelerated)

I talked to my GC, and he said I couldn’t do it. So I am taking AP Psych instead. You can’t take 2 classes of the same name in my school, which means that you cannot take Physics Honors and then AP Physics, you have to go straight to Physics… IDK how that works out…

dude its fine, I’m taking honors bio and chem, and ap bio and chem
