Can you take courses at community college after earning associates degree?

I would be on track to obtain my associates degree in the spring but would like to continue taking courses, is that possible or do they cut you off?

I’m taking classes at a cc after earning a bachelor’s degree, but I’m paying for it out-of-pocket. Why aren’t you transferring to a 4-year school?

If you expect Federal Financial Aid to help pay for it, then you need to be working toward a degree. So if you are at a community college and have already earned an associate’s degree, you’d have to check to see if there are any circumstances where you can continue to receive aid (working toward a second associate’s degree, for example).

In addition, if you plan to seek a bachelor’s degree at another institution, there may be a limit on how much course work they will transfer in. Many 4-year schools require you to have a certain number of credit hours earned at their institution.

So, if you are paying for it yourself, and don’t need it to count towards a bachelor’s degree, then it may be possible to take additional classes at a community college just for fun.

I took a course at CC after my PhD.

Most community colleges permit people to take classes for personal enrichment, job skills or professional certifications. But as others have said, your financial aid may be affected and you may have to pay out of pocket.

I will but I was taking courses while still in high school, I need to have a rigorous year but I’m already at 50 credits.
