Can you transfer INTO a CSU at anytime?

I am currently at a community college, I have about 35 units of general education completed and am so sick of the Community college vibe, the CSU I want to transfer into has the same financial aid programs so money will not be an issue.

Can I apply into a CSU to complete my general education courses there? I would rather finish my schooling at a bigger state school than the mundane boring community college. Is this possible? As mentioned, I have completed about 35 units general education and would like to finish the rest of my schooling at any csu.

Can I apply for next semester and just finish there?

Most of the CSU’s do not accept lower division transfer students (those with less than 60 transfer units), but apparently there are a few that do. Here is a link to CSU’s website regarding this matter, you can search through the different CSU’s to see which actually do accept lower division transfer students.

@mlm is correct 60 is the magic number of units. That includes any AP credits and they don’t all need to be complete when you apply. An applicant for Fall 2015 would probably have 35 done, 15 in progress this semester and a plan to take 15 more at their CC in the Spring. Of course, they need to be the right classes, a competitive GPA,etc.

Also, many campuses accept Spring transfers.

You may be closer than you think.
