I have always been curious as to how much your school plays into college admissions. Hypothetically, if my school did not do well with placing kids in top 40 colleges and say for a school like Boston College the acceptance rate for my school is less than 10% should I consider this a reach. What if on the contrary my school does well placing kids in top 30 schools and we have a 50% acceptance rate to a school like Boston College, should I consider this a match? (Using naviance)
Naviance can be an excellent tool for determining how well you are likely to do at any school provided a number of students have applied there in past (so the data set is built out). OF course, you won’t be able to know who was an athletic recruit or legacy, but we found it much better than the general info provided elsewhere.
