Can you withdraw your application?

I want to withdraw my MIT application before decisions come out; I want to rather instead be determined for admittance for Regular Decision rather than Early Action. Is it possible?

probably not this late in the game. the decisions have been made already and they are just waiting to release them.

I am not sure whether or not it is possible at this point in time, but over a month ago (November 12th) Chris wrote the following as part of a blog post;

"I didn’t think I was applying Early Action, or I’ve changed my mind. Can I switch to Regular Action? Or withdraw my application completely?

Please send an email to sofiacal [at] mit [dot] edu and ask to be switched to Regular Action (you can then work on completing your application by the January 1 RA deadline). If you no longer wish to apply at all to MIT this year, you can use this same address to request that your MIT application be withdrawn from consideration."

I am sure that the Admissions Office is incredibly busy at the moment, so even if it’s still possible to switch to RA they might not be able to read your request to do so/email in time.

The decisions will be released tomorrow. 70% will get deferred. If you get deferred, here is your chance for RD. If you get rejected, you would probably never make it.
