My former English teacher has taught me for two consecutive years, but is not my current English teacher. I was one of his most-liked students and he knows me as well and is likely to write an excellent recommendation for me. (and has agreed to, if possible)
I have another personal recommendation from another dormitory teacher, as well as my current English teacher's recommendation too. I just thought that as my dormitory teacher does not particularly like me, while the other two (Maths and English) teachers will probably write average recs, it would be better to get one from someone who actually liked me. (If you are about to ask me why I am getting a personal rec from someone who doesn't particularly favor me, I have no choice and it is very complicated - but I will try not to send it if not required by the school)
Therefore, can your former subject teacher write a personal rec for you, or is it against any application policy in any school? Are 2 personal recs too many?

As I have mentioned in numerous other threads, due to the firewall in my school, I cannot post anything except for threads, so thank you in advance! (sorry for repeatedly starting many threads that aren't very useful, but I can't help it =/ )
