So I'm looking at Universities in Eastern North America and Europe, I have a pretty good idea of what universities I might apply to in the USA and Europe, but I haven't looked at Canada yet.
I want to major in International Relations, and in Canada I'd like to look at universities on the East, mainly Quebec and perhaps Ontario. I speak fluent French, so the language wouldn't be a problem (maybe getting used to the way the Quebecquois speak French :p).
Which Universities (both English and French-speaking) in Quebec and Ontario (Ottawa and Toronto) would you recommend for International Relations? How do they compare in the level of education from US universities?

Mcgill University in Montreal
Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario

Both are among the top two universities in Canada. Queen's has a Global Studies Program and also a special "Study Abroad in England" program for first year students who want to major in something like IR (Queen's even has its own "castle" in England).

As for the quality of education, it should be quite similar to that of the US and Europe.

McGill is the best one in Canadee. I am not sure about UToronto, it's pretty international i guess.

How are the Universite de Quebec a Montreal, and the Universite de Montreal? I've heard they're pretty good, but what can you tell me about them?

Universite de Montreal is the second best francophone university in Canada, the first best being Laval in Quebec City. UQaM is a good school, great location in town (quartier latin), but still is regarded with the status of a "state school". Go to Universite de Montreal for prestige. I'm orginally from MTL, so i offer the little info that I know

How does the education of Universite de Montreal or Universite Laval compare to let's say, McGill University? Do you know anything about their International Relations programs?

My friends in IR have their heart pretty much set on the Norman Patterson School of government in Carleton University (Ottawa). Apparently it's where all the Canadian IR specialists go. Its program didn't appeal to me, so I'm going to Europe to do my studies, but take a look at NP.

My dad sometimes teaches at Carleton and always talks about how good the IR program is.

I don't know how the international relations department is, but McGill is pretty respected.

I checked out Carleton and it looks really good I must say. However, the Norman Patterson school of International Affairs is a graduate school. I don't think they have an undergraduate program for IR in Carleton.
For undergraduate, which school in Canada do you think is best for IR (not just good in general, I'm asking about the specific IR program)?

Ok I've narrowed it down to: McGill University, Universitre de Montreal, Universite Laval, University of Western Ontario, University of Toronto, Queen's University. Any other that you would recommend? Can you help me narrow down this list?
