I'm a Canadian citizen who was born in the US and has lived her entire life here. I'm interested in McGill because of the city life (VERY different than where I am now), good value, and quality of education.

Here is a question of finances. Do I have to buy the health insurance package even though technically I wouldn't be an international student?

It depends if you are eligible for the Quebec province medical plan- if you are then you dont need the health insurance package. My daughter's friend lived in the US, but as a Quebec citizen she does not have to take the health plan. The plan, by the way, is a bargain for those familiar with US health care costs, it is $660 Cdn per year. As in all these cases, call the appropriate McGill dept. and ask- they are very helpful.
