Canadian GPA -- Application to Grad school

Hey
I'm almost graduating from Canada the following semester. My current GPA is 6.0, on a 9.0 scale this equals to B (note: not a B+ nor a B-).

I'm thinking of Applying to US graduate schools, mainly in the "Software Engineering" or "Information Systems" fields.

Do I stand a chance for Grad school in US? Would you suggest any university that would accept my GPA without GRE or GMAT..?

Reference:
University grading scale

A+ = 9
A = 8
B+ = 7
B = 6
C+ = 5
C = 4
D+ = 3
D = 2
E = 1
F = 0

You will likely need a GRE score. At my university, Illinois Tech, the GRE is only waived for domestic applicants to professional masters programs who have a GPA above 3.0.

I can’t think of any reputable U.S. grad programs that allow acceptance without the GRE. Furthermore, with a solid B average, you’re going to want to take the GRE anyway - you need high scores to offset what is actually a kind of lowish GPA for graduate school admissions.

Also, you just said “graduate school”. Do you want a master’s or a PhD? That will change things.

MIT’s EECS does not require the GRE, which is closely aligns with software engineering.

EECS is far from software engineering.

CtuieTina, take the GRE. There are many schools in the US that have IS/IT degrees that aren’t as hard to grt into compared to EE/CS admissions, but you need to take the GRE.
