Hi I really needed help on this so i decided to come here.

I'm currently a High School senior (17 y/o) living in Vancouver Canada and will graduate this year. I am really wanting to go move and study in the US. I'm set on being in Southern California however that may be changed.
I already researched this. So far, i took the ACT (Planning to retake for a better score) and done everything required to graduate here. Im not sure how to calculate my GPA since we dont use that system here but my grades are pretty decent. Mainly A's and B's a few C's here and there. 1 Honors calss. I have a bit of volunteer and work experience. My ACT (+ writing) result is 30 /36 , hopefully improved on 2nd try. I will also take the SAT as well.
Im going to be studying Computer Science (have taken many courses) though its likely that i might switch this.

How would I go about applying to different schools in the US? (Specifically SoCal)
Which schools? I am pretty flexible on what or which schools i will go to , Ultimately, I just really want to be in the United States!

the #1 question for you as an international student will be: how much can your parents afford?
Second: would you be applying for Fall 2014? Spring 2014? Or using hte NACAC list on May 3?

University of Arizona. A TON of students from SoCal or who have their sights set on attending school there come to UA, and I have met a fair number of Canadian students here myself - all whom love it here. UA is much more affordable than the California schools and the bang for your buck that you will get here is top-notch. We have a high acceptance rate but offer education that rivals the UCLAs, Cals, etc. seeing as we are a public ivy. Hope you look into coming down to Tucson, it is an amazing place!
