Hi, I'm a secondary school student in B.C., Canada. Here, our transcript only displays grades for courses that we took in grades 10 to 12 (sophomore to senior years).

I understand that universities in the U.S. want to see all four years of high school. Would I have to supply a four year transcript (I'd have to get a special one printed) or would American universities only look at my 3 year transcript?

I'm asking because my 1st year was not my best and I had a few B's that scar my record.

i’m from burnaby and we’re allowed to request a transcript from 8-12 or 10-12… did you ask your counsellor? what school do you go to? that way, some past students will give insight.

EDIT: Did not see that you can get a special one. Sorry, but just because Canadian universities only look at recent grades, it doesnt mean we get any special treatment. you’re going to need one with 4 years at least of high school…

I think I might have asked my counsellor but I went to see her so many times in the past month and I forgot what exactly she said. On second thought, no I didn’t ask…

I go to Gleneagle Secondary School.

Thanks for your answer, basketballbabe13.

Yes, I think I was told that it can be added when sending your transcript to the U.S. I must clarify with my counsellor though…

If anyone has any experience in this please drop a reply. Thanks.
