Canadian Universites-tax credits for US students?

Colleges and Universities in the US send out form 1098-T in February to help students and families determine if they are eligible for educational Hope or Lifetime learning tax credits on their US tax returns. I assume there are no options for US students at McGill, but wondered if anyone else has inquired about this. The Minerva for Guests site shows several categories of tax-type information that one can look up on the student e-bill, but the links are blank as my son is a US citizen.
It is impressive that with the already-low tuition there are possibly additional tax credits for Canadians.

There is no info from the US IRS readily available about students who are studying at foreign Universities.

McGill Dad, what was your experience with this?

I am not a tax expert, but my computer tax program has always figured out for me which tax credit (Lifetime or Hope) I am eligible for and taken the appropriate actions. The McGill tuition is more than enough to meet the IRS guidelines. The rest depends on your family income.

Someone may know more technical information.

Thanks,
I will continue to try and get more info out of the IRS and will post if I hear any specifics.
