hey!
can anyone help me with canadian universities?

In terms of what, exactly?

Yeah, could you be more specific?

oh perhaps he meant by saying "Are there any universities in Canada?" :)

hey....well actually i do know about canadian universities...its just i was looking for some suggestion...just wanted to make sure there is someone out there to help on this topic...
umm actually so far i got my admission in UNIV OF TORONTO, YORK(SCHULICH),WATERLOO(co-op),CARLETON. i plan to study commerce..applied to the commerce dept in all of them...and ryt now i am confused where to go.....decisions at mcgill, queens, ubc and alberta are still not out yet....
hope you ppl could gimme sum suggestion

Well, in terms of quality (wrt commerce in particular), I think you've stated your admissions in the right order. In terms of non-academic life, I'd wait for McGill* and UBC's answers...

*though I do believe Concordia has better commerce, if you desire to study in Montreal

Dude, Concordia better in Commerce? You need to stop doing crack...you are much too young too throw your life away. If Concordia is better in commerce, the I must ask myself why all these randoms from Concordia show up at McGill recruiting events.

Concordia is a terrible school. Don't go.

I heard Concordia's stronger in the Performing Arts/Humanities...

At least that's what an ex told me (Creative Writing Major there. Didn't get into Theatre)

People go to whichever recruiting event's around...

Besides, I might have been thinking some other program than commerce.

UBC- Saunder's school of business :)

Mcgill- Canada's Harvard :):)

thnx ppl for givin me an insight!
ya i know ppl state mcgill as harvard of canada BUT as far as i know mcgill is just gud for science in particular.they r prolly not as gud for commerce.i heard the UofT commerce (rotman schul of management) is supposed to be really gud n the best for finance and economics.also that UofT is verry competitive.....so deosnt tat imply that they ARe gud:S
ya i am waiting for UBC.......but gettin more and more confused!

The U of Alberta School of Business is very good too.

ok, this is crazy, JIMMY@KILLARNEY said
"UBC- Saunder's school of business
Mcgill- Canada's Harvard"

JIMMY@KILLARNEY, with no due respect, u have no clue what u r saying .... mcguill is not canadas harvard ...... that's waterloo, its the best university in canada, its as simple as that
do some research next time

lala56, it must suck to have lived your entire life with you head in your butt. Waterloo??? the best school in Canada?? That's like saying the Columbus Blue Jackets are the best team in hockey (I'm assuming you're Canadian given that you know that Waterloo even exists). They may have some decent players but they ain't winnin' the Stanley Cup anytime soon. I know it must be hard to get decent information with your head stuck in the deep cavernous recesses of your rectum so I do forgive your for your complete ignorance.

^^^^ oh wow leyton_reynolds, so tell me which university you are so passionate about? u criticize me whole heartedly, and then forget mention which one you think is the best ... and dont reply with some nonsense along the lines of "there are many great universities in canada ..." mention one name

"UBC- Saunder's school of business
Mcgill- Canada's Harvard"

ditto! lala56: Waterloo can't even compare.

ok..shud i go for UofT commerce? or Schulich?

for busniss/commerce studies, Schulich is def better than U of T commerce in terms of rankings. But however, if you compare both schools overall reputation/prestige, U of Toronto is far better than York any day. Based on admissions, York is awfully easy to get admitted as compared to Toronto.

''i heard the UofT commerce (rotman schul of management) is supposed to be really gud n the best for finance and economics'' I believe this only appiles to the UofT rotman school of management for grad school and not so much for their undergrad commerce program. In fact, the UofT commerce undergrad is rather weak. (as compared to Queens, Schulicy, Ivey, Mcgill, Sauder)

''as far as i know mcgill is just gud for science i'' This is rather untrue as well. Indeed Mcgill is awesome and really strong is science, that is because it is a research-intensive instituition. However, the school is also an excellent overall and equally reputable for their school for management, arts and engineering. It is also a respected intstituition and reputated as the ''Havard of Canada'' as well.

Here are the rankings by Macleans
1. Mcgill/ UofT (on par)
3. Western
4. UBC
5. Queens

good luck on your decisions!

hey naff thanx alot.......
i know...and that is exactly why i am so confused..i am really not understandin whether to for reputation or the studies.........i mean in terms of academics they sure cant vary tat much..can they?

also that uoft commerce undergrad is also partially connected to rotman....i have a friend doing his undergrads and from wat i heard from him, from 2nd yr the class size gets quite smalller as they are very selective about commerce students.and i guess york too is a small school....but i really dunno how to decide and on what factors......
