Hey, I was wondering if there are any Canadians on the board that got into Brown. If so what % average to you have and what sort of classes did you take?

Hey, I'm a Canadian, and I understand the confusion amongst us northerners about what it takes to get into an American school. So if you have any Q's, feel free to message me. You'll make me feel sagacious like a wise old man.

Let's see, my average was good enough to put me into the top 5% or so in my class.

Gr. 9: 91%
Gr. 10: 90%
Gr. 11: 94%
Gr. 12: 91%

Some American CCers have averages up in the upper 90s, but I think rank puts thing into perspective. Despite my relatively lower average, my ranking may have been better. American schools tend to inflate grades more than Canadian ones.

And I did not take an endless amount of AP courses. I took whatever accelerated courses I could in my school, but I ended up only taking two AP's: Calculus AB in gr. 12, and self-studied U.S. History in gr. 11. The fact is that my school did not offer many APs, and the ones they did offer were only accessible once the provincial curriculum was completed. Thus, I think my lack of APs was not so big an issue due to the fact that I was not able to take them.
