Cancel score and retake? Advice needed!

Hey, I have a question for all of you.

I am in 10th grade, and I omitted 12 questions.

As some of you know, I didn't take world history, only AP European History. I am wondering if I should cancel my score that I took today and re-take it in october. I will self study the material by getting the AP World History book or something.

I am uncomfortable having a bad test score that colleges can see.

Is this a good idea?

I'm pretty confident I will get an 800 if I retake it, seeing how awesome the curve is (78/95 = 800?). I knew all of the european questions down, but I didn't know jack about the americas, and asia. I probably got like a 55-60 or so raw score.

Thoughts?

Oh, and I am taking AP USH, AP Chem, and AP English, (as well as math analysis (precalc) honors...to give you an idea of the other SAT IIs I will be able to take next year)

Im in tenth too. I cancelled it right when I finished the test because I knew it wasnt going to be a 750+
so yeah, I would cancel it. only because we have the time

Any other opinions?

Yeah you should, only because you're in 10th grade and can retake it :)
Plus i didnt know the curve was so high! Why cant it be this high for bio GAHHSHS.

Any others?

I'm planning on applying to a top tier school.

It would be best if you are taking World History AP. Since you are not I would suggest that you take US Hist after your AP year. You only need 2-3 max for top 3 schools so 1 science, 1 math, and 1 of any other is enough.

USH has a tougher curve though percentilewise

I guess I'll take Chem, Math IIC (whatelse is there anyway?), and I think im going to take the World history one over. I think i got like a 600 but I'm pretty sure I can get an 800 if I actually learn over the material. I didn't study any of the world stuff so I didn't know a lot of the stuff. The curve is so generous.

Would it be bad to see what I got then take it over? Or should I just cancel anyway? The score won't be good.

Retakes are less of a problem than you seem to think they are, so I don't see a compelling reason to cancel the first score, especially if you took the test first in tenth grade.
