I took the Chemistry SAT II and the history SAT II yesterday. I know I got an 800 on the history, but I bombed the Chemistry (like.... 650+). Should I send both scores, or cancel both, and then retake the chemistry (which I'm fairly sure I'll get a higher score on in october)? Please help me... I'd really appreciate it.
I know that competitions like intel STS take into account your SAT II subject test scores, and since chemistry is a science... I was wondering if it'd be really bad if I only got an 800 on the second try. Should I cancel for that?

I vote that you keep these scores and retake Chemistry if you feel it's necessary. A 650 is not bad BTW.

can you get another 800 on the history?
if so, cancel it

No, but I am aiming to get into HYPS. Thanks for your help (:

I think it is possible to get another 800 on history. It's a relatively easy test. Does anyone have more advice? I would really appreciate it! :)

bump... anyone?

yo can you stop worrying

and are you really that sure that you got an 800 on history?

Can you please PM the list of questions?

Thanks.

I wouldn't cancel. It's not worth restudying both chem and US history. I don't think it looks that bad to get bad subject test scores then retake because they test your knowledge of material, not your "ability" like the SATs supposedly to. So if you retake it just means you learned the material better. Whereas retaking the SATs a lot of times can look bad becuase they are designed to test your "potential" says CB, so a bad a SAT score isn't that good.

iloveme -- i'm pretty sure i did get an 800, since the curve is so good. I did get the taj mahal question wrong though, along with several others. but in all i'm fairly certain i got a good grade. At lowest, a 790.

ultmtdream. How many did you skip/miss?

If i skipped 10, got 5-6 wrong, is that still in good range?

70-71 points out of 90 USUALLY gets about 740, 750, depending on curves etc. a very good score
10 blank with 5-6 wrong is about 70-71 raw score

Really? No it's not --;;

95-10 = 85
85-6 = 79
79 - 6/4 = 77.5 = 78

How is that 70-71

The test was out of 95

So far I know i got 6 wrong, i omitted one or two. Since the curve is good... well... yeah.
