Hi everyone:
First, thank you for coming in! :))
So right now I have three choices: Bryn Mawr College in Pennsylvania, Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, and Jacobs University in Germany.
They are all great schools and I really want to make the right decision.
So here are some facts:
- before I knew about Jacobs, Women’s colleges have always been my first choice. I’m not extremely feminist but I feel like I will have an really unique experience and learn a lot as a young woman. (my dream school is Wellesley but I got rejected :(( )
- I REALLY love Europe. I used to live in Austria and my German is fluent. And plus I am planning on going to graduate school in Europe. (I really wanna go to Oxford )
- Money, of course. My parents tell me not to worry about money and just choose the college I really love. But I feel bad since they are the ones who are supporting me financially. So I’m receiving 5500€ scholarship from Jacobs and none from the two colleges. And the tuition of Jacobs is a half of BMC and MHC. Again, I try not to use money as the reason choosing Jacobs. But if I will end up in Europe anyway, wouldn’t Jacobs be better? (Plz correct me if you think my opinion is wrong I really need some advice)
- Major. I’m not a science person or a math person. I will probably be majoring in psychology and, if I go to one of the Women’s colleges where I have more choice, I will consider German and art history as well. (I will definitely have more choices in BMC and MHC)
- Campus. Jacobs has a very diverse campus which I really like. I’m an international student and I have studied in many different countries. I have to admit that Jacobs gives me a feeling that it would be easier to fit in since there is no such a mainstream culture. Yet since the school is new, I’m kinda worried.)
That’s what I have right now. I would really appreciate if some of you can leave some advices, or if you wanna chat abt anything!
Thank you so much!
