Can't Decide!

Anyone’s kid (or you) having a hard time deciding between 2 schools? I realize technically the May 1 deadline is not here, but my husband and I need to get on with our lives! Our son has USC and one other school (both OOS, both have scholarship $). We are OK with either decision as the cost is not very different in the end. One is hours farther away than the other, so I think that is the main reason he can’t pull the trigger. Any advice?? We are encouraging to make sure he feels comfortable with the decision but also tell him to hurry up at the same time (smile). This journey has been a long road and I’m tired. Plus planning needs to start for signing up for orientation, etc. Comments welcome!

Have you done the admitted students day at both? My son is going on the 7th (he hasn’t been to Columbia since he was 10) and then we are giving him a deadline. I think it will be a no brainer but I am ready to have this process finished and make the deposit. I feel your pain. :slight_smile:

LOL…I could have written the original post. We’re in the same boat at our house. Poor son just can’t decide. USC is 6 hours away by car, vs. school #2 that is a plane ride away. Both schools are completely different from each other. We will be going to ASD on April 7th, too. Hoping a decision will be made soon after that.

Yes, @lastone03 been to both events. I figured that would be deciding factor too! He did come back from USC’s Adm Day and said he liked it even more than beforehand.

So in the next 2 hours my DS will tell us his choice…I’m on pins and needles. What a long road for all of us! I will be happy with either choice but admit it will take a minute to say “goodbye” to the one he doesn’t choose. Weird, huh?! I will report back the decision. :slight_smile:

@x2018x Any decisions yet?

I think ours will be putting down a deposit when we get home…

@hbh2017 He will be a Gamecock!!! Now to pick a hall and find a roommate!

Just got back from admitted students day. The check in lines were huge - which was nice to see. My son is a Sports Management major/Business minor and the presentation they put on was incredibly helpful. He met the Department Chair as well as a couple of other professors and they couldn’t have been more engaging and excited about what is happening in the their college. The department helps you build your resume from the minute you get there, interships seem diverse and plentiful, and the program’s access to industry leaders is impressive. He is really excited.
