I'm stuck between Rice and University of Kansas..
KU is my state school which is paying me 5000 to go to their school
and I would have to pay around 25000 at Rice.. I really want to go to Rice though..
I'm thinking med school or engineering grad school in the future..
What Should I DO!!!!!!!!..

rice. money shouldnt affect getting a decent education

Oh like he wouldn't get a decent education at Kansas... I bet the professor's there didn't even go to college...

I'd say go to Kansas, assuming you're not absurdly wealthy and don't particularly want to pay off student loans until you retire. If you're going to have to pay for medical/graduate engineering school later, shelling out an extra $80,000 over four years (or taking on all/part of that expense in loans) for an undergrad education is not the brightest of ideas.

If you even prefer Rice slightly more than Kansas, then go with Rice. Go to the school you want to go to.

Also with regards to price, theres a reason Rice costs more.

Do you have the $100,000 for Rice? If not, how would you pay for it?

How much would your parents be contributing to your Rice education? Because if you're taking out that 25K in loans every year, that's not exactly a sound financial move.

I'd go to Kansas... You still have to think about paying for grad/med school.

No one pays full price upfront.

The COA at Rice is around 40K, so it seems that this 25,000 estimate is after financial aid has been factored in.
