Can't take and submit subject tests before Early Decision application due date

Hi,

I’m taking my 3rd and last SAT test in October and then superscoring to send to a college’s engineering department that I’m applying to, but I just realized I can’t do my subject tests on that same date. I am wanting to do Math II and Physics and possibly re-take the Biology one at a later date, but obviously it will not go on the application I submit to this 1st choice college. Is there anything I can do? If I take the two subject tests in November can it be sent directly to that school and added to my application during the decision making process? The ED deadline is November 1st. Or, will I just have to submit them later if I’m deferred.

Thanks

Does this particular college require SAT IIs? Or are they just recommended, or considered? Any distinction made for ED applications (Georgetown for example says EA applicants don’t necessarily need 3). Look at the specific language the college you are applying to uses in its application materials. Also look back at the past threads for this college here on CC for others who had the same question, because it invariably comes up.

My S is in the same boat with the timing of the ED application and the SAT subject tests. He contacted his admission rep to ask about whether taking the subject tests in November would allow them to be included with the November 15 ED application; she wrote back that since the tests were not required that he should just not worry about taking the subject tests. Oh, and she made it clear that everything had to be received by the institution by the November 15 deadline, including scores. You might want to contact your rep to find out their policy.

Just read another post on the forum and they said the school doesn not require any subject tests for any major and they will not affect acceptances. So I’ll hold off to take the two for my regular decision school (the rest are EA for me).
