Can't work full time and focus on school

Hello everyone I am new to the forum. I am having a hard time studying and focusing on school. I work full time at a hospital, my days vary but my hours are 4pm-1230am. It seems i'm always on the run, I run to school, then run to work. The 2 days I off in the week that I have arent enough for me either because one of those days are one of those days I go to school and the other day is the only real day I can study. Sometimes im so busy just going to class and going to work that I can't accomplish the hw that is due the next day.

Also when I do get to study I can't focus, my mind wanders, I look at my phone i'm browsing the web, texting someone etc..etc. I graduated with a B.A in Economics and am currently pursuing a Engineering degree. I will probably get another Bachelors but in Engineering or apply to the leap program at Boston University. Do you guys have any tips for me? I am really thinking about dropping to part time, but for some reason I feel I still won't study and procrastinate till the day before the exam. And I might possible speak to my manager to see if I can work only 3 days a week but still maintain full time.

Thanks everyone.

I would study part-time.

i find that having a lot of free time as a student decreases stress, and i’m much less likely to procrastinate if i’m not under stress.

i know my work is higher quality when i’m not stressed out, and do everything i can do to avoid stress. when i feel overwhelmed by stress, i tend to procrastinate. once i saw that this was a pattern, i decided it would be much better to just stop altogether when i cant help but procrastinate and take a break.

result: when i work, i work more diligently, but i dedicate more time to not working than i did before. i wouldn’t be able to handle working more than the 13 hours i work as a TA, much less full time. not many people can.

When studying engineering you need as much time as possible, we can’t work full-time like a sociology major. You really ought to work 20 hours a week or fewer. If this causes financial problems, get a room mate, move in with your parents, move to a cheaper place, take out a loan, apply for scholarships, etc. School comes first. Years from now you’ll be glad you devoted more time to studies.
