Is there a difference between being a captain of a team that won states vs. a team that didnt win states? My school team has lost 5 times in a row in the regional semifinals, but this year we have an incredible chance of taking the state title. Would winning this title benefit me as the captain?
Obviously winning is better than losing.
Sorry, I meant to clarify for college admissions
Yeah it would. I guess it serves to validate the strength of your sports team-kind of similar to how high AP scores validate the rigor of a class. For instance, I was on the varsity tennis team this spring. Since there are so many varsity teams out there, the skill level required to be on a varsity team varies wildly. I could easily be the #1 player (out of the 6 players on a varsity team) at many schools yet I would probably be high JV at the state champion school. Putting down that you guys won states shows that you are good at your sport and can lead a team well. By the way, what sport are you the captain of?
lol tennis too
@blackbird1234 is your state competitive for tennis
Virginia, I would think its fairly competitive
Are you going to try to be recruited for the sport you are in in college?
If no, then it is a good leadership EC
If yes, then you should be a very good player and that will help
