CARE Program

My DD is interested in FSU and I think she would qualify for the CARE program. Is rooming in their dorm a requirement for the Summer Bridge Program? We have family already in Tallahassee and we were planning on her staying with them during the summer term.

Any tips/experiences with this program? She will be applying this month.

My daughter is CARE 2010. Yes, it is a requirement that your child live in the dorms during Summer C session. It wouldn’t be feasible for your daughter to live off campus as there are many session outside of classes and last minute meetings with Care counselors, RAs, orientation leaders, etc. It was difficult to coordinate seeing my daughter even just for the two or three days immediately after move in. If you think your daughter qualifies definitely apply. There are more financial aid options than through regular enrollment and your child will go into the fall semester already acquainted with the campus, the transportation, the surroundings, etc. while their peers are struggling to get acquainted with all of these things while handling a full course load. If you have any questions feel free to message me.
