@Efuanta I meant as soon as the decisions themselves are put in the mail. So for instance, if they start mailing them on March 20 (so we can receive them at around 22 March) will they let us know?
Did everyone get that email with links to random stuff from your application?
What email?? I only got the one announcing the notification date
No, didn’t get an email from Carleton. Send a screenshot or please post what it said!
@ricka8 same.
Jamie, thanks for your interest in Carleton. We’re taking a quick break from reviewing applications to give you an update on your file.
First of all, your application is complete and in order. We’re giving it a thorough review and plan to post our decision online on Wednesday, March 22 at 8pm Central Time. We’ll also put old fashioned decision letters in the mail, but if you can’t stand the suspense, you’re welcome to log in and see the decision online.
So what happens next? Well, give yourself a moment to relax. We’re impressed precisely because we know you’ve given your best effort. Give yourself some credit.
Maybe music and meditation isn’t your thing. Maybe you’d rather bust some bubbles or contemplate the cosmos? Do a little home cooking or get out for a run? Perhaps you’d prefer to sharpen the mental calculator, dream up an unlikely study abroad experience, or seek perfection in a beautifully mindless game of putt-putt?
Whatever your speed, we hope you find a moment to kick back and relax. There’s nothing left to do now but wait.
Inhale. Exhale. You’ll be hearing from us soon.
Sincerely,
Carleton College Admissions
I got this last week
@jkgreen27 me too. Im curious, is the fourth paragraph the same for everyone? Bc a large part of my application was about bubbles, the cosmos and home cooking.
It would be a gigantic coincidence if it is
@Jamie151: If you are an accepted student next week and enroll, head over to Scoville Hall (Admissions’ new location as of fall) during orientation and raise the question of plagiarism !!
Hoping for good news for everyone! My daughter had an amazing four years at Carleton (and decided to stay in Minnesota).
@Jamie151 who knows maybe it’s a sign
@MinnesotaDadof3 i didnt get you
I mean I wrote about running but Idk if I’ll get in (I don’t really think so tbh)
@Jamie151: Your question was whether admissions “lifted” some of your words from your own application (assume it was your essay). If they did, shouldn’t they cite you as their source of literary inspiration?
My email had the exact same message
Mine too
Does anyone who whether carleton still offers the combined plan program with columbia in the academic year 2017-2018?
@Jamie151: The 3-2 engineering school option that Carleton has with both Columbia University and with Washington University (St. Louis) would no longer be available to you. Carleton students who enrolled fall of 2016 are the last to whom it is available. See the following Carleton link: https://apps.carleton.edu/curricular/engineering/about/
