For people who have visited both schools or know enough about them, what are the main differences between the people at Carleton and people at Haverford, and how they spend their free time?

I did overnights at both schools, but I may have a skewed representation because I went on the Haverford overnight for sports, and the Carleton overnight for a multicultural thing. It seemed that there was much more of a social scene at Haverford, just from seeing how many people were outside and walking around (but this could be because of the Carleton weather). When I was at Carleton everything became pretty quiet at about 12 or 1 am. The people at both campuses seemed very different as well. At Carleton everyone was really friendly and laid back, whereas I think at Haverford drinking was much more influential in the night life. At either school you will definitley be able to find both types of people, but that is just how I found both campuses to be like. Hope this helps!

Thanks! When I visited Haverford I thought they were pretty laid back. I think you're right that there are different kinds of people at both.

Michun: Are you saying you think maybe you experienced more of a party atmosphere at Haverford because you were there overnight with a sports team? They probably drink nore at all LACs.

I didn't think Haverford particularly had a drinking reputation. At least from what I've heard from friends at Bryn Mawr. I thought they were kind of nerdy.

nooo...I know that Haverford is not a party school at all, but there's always going to be alcohol at most schools you go to, and I just noticed it more than at Carleton, where I didn't see any people drinking while I was there.

If you believe what you read in the Fiske and Insider's guides, parties are described as being more alcohol oriented at Haverford than at Carleton.
