Do I have to write any essays to be considered for these schools or do I just need to indicate that I want to pursue them? I know that I can’t for Vanderbilt since it’s too late for me to produce the writing, but I don’t know if these schools are the same. Pretty much, should I indicate that I want to pursue them? I don’t really know if I have anything to lose anyways if I indicate that I do and just don’t write anything.
Every application to Case Western is considered for merit based scholarships. There are no additional essay prompts, and the application is free. If there is a spot that you want merit aid at Case, be sure to select yes.
I can’t comment on the other schools, but isn’t Vanderbilt’s scholarship deadline like January 2nd? You still have a little bit of time.
So it doesn’t even make a difference if I indicate it if all apps are considered right? Either way, probably best to just say yes to wanting to pursue it just in case.
For Vanderbilt, it takes two business days to send you an account to begin the application and the deadline is the 1st. So, either way, I wouldn’t get the account until the 2nd at best which is past the deadline.
Yeah, just say yes. There’s no harm to come from being considered for merit.
I feel you on Vanderbilt. I was going to apply, but the merit scholarships take a lot of time, and it was too late.
If you don’t qualify for financial need and can’t afford Vanderbilt without merit aid, I don’t recommend wasting money on an application.
